Movie Rental: Santa Claus Conquers the Martians - 60th Anniversary, Re-Edited Edition
For its '60th Anniversary!', we adopted the 1964 Holiday Campy Movie that is infamous for appearing on every 'TOP TEN WORST MOVIES OF ALL TIME' List, and "Spruced" it up, turning it into a "goofy or wacky", holiday hoot"!
Director Andy Diskes saw its potential as a nostalgic piece of holiday family entertainment and decided to rework the movie using the motto: "Keep the Camp, The Rest: Revamp".
Three and a half years and 5,000 hours later, we are excited to present our Final Product, just in time for its 60th Anniversary!
Whether you watch this at a family gathering, or with a group of old friends, the "It's so Bad that It's Good" feel will lead to a light-hearted and memorable event, any time of year.
Plot Summary:
Angry to find the children on Mars have lost their interest in life, Kimar, the Martian leader, decides to send an expedition to Earth to kidnap Santa Claus and bring him to Mars. The Martian troops meet two children - Billy and Betty - who direct them to the North Pole. Billy, Betty and Santa are all taken to Mars where Santa is made to work in a depressing automated workshop. Kimar's ideas do not work out as planned and he eventually returns Santa and the two children to Earth - but Santa manages to leave some of the spirit of Christmas behind him.
